ABOUT RETINAL SLAP

Meet Tom Moyer the face behind Retinal Slap.

Retinal Slap is the latest evolution in my 25+ year career. I formed Retinal Slap in response to the rapidly changing marketing communications market. Our mission is to provide companies, advertising agencies, design firms, PR agencies and social media firms with a highly strategic creative resource that can help their businesses and clients thrive. Retinal Slap’s wide range of creative expertise includes integrated branding and advertising campaigns  (traditional and digital), identity design, packaging, environmental and website/mobile design.

An impressive history of advertising and brand building.

Prior to founding Retinal Slap, I founded the M1 Agency, an award-winning branding and advertising agency in LA. Over its very successful 17 year history, we worked with a solid list of clients such as Oakley, ABC, The Humane Society, Cingular Wireless, Vail Resorts, Disney, Marriott, Bank of America, Fandango, Speedo, Vespa and The United Nations.

I began my advertising career in the LA offices of Dailey & Associates, where I worked on the California State Lottery, Honda Motorcycles, Armor All and Gallo accounts. I spent the next four years as Vice President/Associate Creative Director at DDB/Needham LA, where I was responsible for diverse accounts including: GTE, Lynx Golf Clubs, Cigna Health Plan, Universal Studios, China Airlines and Bugle Boy Jeans.  During this tenure I began a long-standing association with Oakley Sunglasses that led to the formation of the M1 agency in 1995. Oakley was my first client.

Prior to joining Dailey & Associates, I completed my education at the Otis Parsons School of Design and the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

My work has been singled out and recognized by local, national and international awards such as The Addys, The Andy’s, The Art Director’s Clubs of New York and Los Angeles, The Beldings, The Cannes International Advertising Festival, The Clios, Communication Arts, The London International Advertising Awards, The One Show and even an Emmy. In addition, one of my television commercials for Bugle Boy Jeans is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
