The LADPH asked us to develop an advertising campaign to generate awareness of the importance of getting vaccinated against highly contagious diseases among the city’s culturally and economically diverse populations. The primary target audience for this campaign was bilingual caregivers of children 0-18 years old.

We developed a creative concept influenced by the Japanese anime style of illustration, which has become part of the visual vernacular of popular culture. The eye-catching graphic style lends itself to a powerful, poster-like iconic expression. In this case, the visual depicts a nonthreatening juxtaposition of illness and health, and is supported by a simple headline with a strong call to action. The arresting and compelling visual can be pooled out easily, acting as a strong unifying element across all touch-points of an integrated advertising campaign – from print to social media.
